Roy Martin describes his RAF service as a radio fitter, working on Javelin, Hunter, Beverley, Pioneer and Twin Pioneer aircraft. He also remembers his long-standing involvement with the RAF Museum.
Roy Martin joined the RAF as an air radio fitter and completed technical training at RAF Locking. He worked on Gloster Javelin and Hawker Hunter fighter aircraft at RAF Waterbeach and with Beverley, Pioneer and Twin Pioneer transport aircraft in Singapore. He remembers transport operations in Katmandu, his later posting to RAF Cosford and his involvement in the development of the Aerospace Museum, later the RAF Museum, at RAF Cosford.
