Tony Evans flew as an RAF pilot in Handley Page Hastings and Lockheed Hercules transport aircraft. He also completed a US Air Force exchange tour in Lockheed C-141 transport aircraft.
Tony Evans flew as a pilot in Handley Page Hastings aircraft with 230 Operational Conversion Unit and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster bomber aircraft. After converting to Hercules transport aircraft he participated in the Falklands War, famine relief in Ethiopia, casualty evacuation from Beirut and in operations in the Balkans. He flew C-141 transport aircraft during the 1991 Gulf War while on exchange with the US Air Force.
