Trojan 4x2 Light Van
The Trojan light van was introduced by the RAF in 1924 as a cheap replacement for the Ford Model T vans of the First World War.
In order to keep the costs down, the Trojan was powered by a four cylinder, two stroke engine that was connected to the rear axles by a chain drive. The solid disc wheels, with solid rubber tyres, were another cost saving measure. This replica example was originally built in 1922 as a car and was later converted by a school teacher into a representation of an RAF van.
