Air Crew Survival at Sea part two: The Multi Seat Dinghy
Training film on survival at sea. The crew of a ditched aircraft board their dinghy and demonstrate survival drills and dinghy features before being found by a maritime patrol aircraft.
Three multi-seat aircrew dinghies are seen, and features fitted to the MS5 dinghy are seen and explained. Aircrew swim to their dinghy and the necessary survival procedures are illustrated, including baling out water, dealing with wet clothes, rationing supplies and keeping watch for searchers. Drinking water requirements are discussed and the narrator considers the possibility of eating fish, seaweed and seagulls. An aeroplane then drops Lindholme rescue equipment to survivors.
