Bomber Command Order of Battle, 26 April 1945
This replica availability board shows the operational strength of Bomber Command on the last day that the Command mounted a heavy bomber raid.
At the start of the bombing offensive, Bomber Command could muster just over 100 operational sorties. By 1945 it could regularly fly 1,000 and occasionally 2,000 operational sorties in a 24-hour period. Exact provenance originally unclear. However, this board appears to be one of a pair of careful reproduction boards specially made for the Headquarters Bomber Command Farewell Ball, held in the Officer's Mess at RAF High Wycombe on 26 April 1968.
