Folding Chair from RAF Stanley (Falklands) Chapel

In 1983, in the aftermath of the Falklands Conflict, a shipping container was turned into a chapel for use by RAF personnel based at RAF Stanley and remained in use there until 1986. It contained nine such folding chairs.

Varnished natural wood slatted wooden folding chair; seat made from square frame with nine wooden slats secured with two metal screws. Front legs extend at an angle to form the back of the chair. A metal rod joins these to the seat. Back legs join the front legs half way up the back of the chair with the seat joining the back legs by way of a slot allowing the chair to be folded.
