RAF Hendon Christmas menu card, 1957
Christmas has been and continues to be marked at RAF stations. A number of activities are usually associated with the festival including dinners being held.
At Christmas there is a service tradition which involves the officers and senior NCOs preparing and serving the dinner for the lower ranks. Menu cards were usually produced as a memento for occasions like this with those present often signing them. This card, unsigned, relates to a Christmas dinner held during the Cold War at RAF Hendon, now the site of the RAF Museum.
