Patron's Medal, Royal Air Force Museum

Gold Patron’s Medal awarded to Sir Dermot Boyle by the Royal Air Force Museum to mark his contribution to its formation

In 1962 the Air Force Board formed a committee, under the chairmanship of Marshal of the Royal Air Force Sir Dermot Boyle, which led to the establishment of the Royal Air Force Museum with Sir Dermot as the first chief of the Board of Trustees. To show it’s appreciation for Sir Dermot Boyle’s work on their behalf the Royal Air Force Museum awarded a patron medal to recognise the importance of his support and encouragement during its foundation
