Hand embroidered coloured tapestry depicting four RAF Avro Lancaster aircraft flying in formation in clouds above landscape
One of a series of tapestries embroidered by members of the Women's Royal Air Force in their free time as a tribute to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the RAF. The series was presented to the Royal Air Force Museum in October 1978. This tapestry may have been created by Squadron Leader DA Veitch-Wilson, who suggested and organised the whole project.
