Sector Room Clock (Replica)
These clocks were used in Operation Rooms in the Second World War, and particularly during the Battle of Britain, to help track the movements of incoming formations of enemy aircraft.
The red, yellow and blue triangles on the clock face each span five minutes. Corresponding coloured markers were placed on a large map on the plotting table in the centre of Operations Rooms. This enabled the Controller to see how up-to-date the information was, as well as the progress and likely target of the formation.
