This item is displayed on a figure depicting the appropriate flying clothing for an air gunner during 1944.

This pack contained a one man, Type K, Dinghy and a selection of survival aids. The Type C pack would be attached to an Observer's Type Parachute Harness and acted as a seat cushion.
