Trials of D.H.53 hooking onto His Majesty's airship R.33
Film in which a DH.53 aircraft releases from and reattaches to the airship R.33 while in flight. The process is repeated several times and is seen from two different perspectives.
A de Havilland DH.53 aircraft, flown by Squadron Leader Haig, is seen in flight from above and behind on 4th December 1925. The aircraft releases from and reconnects to the airship R.33 several times using equipment suspended below the airship. The process of release and reconnection is also seen through a camera mounted directly above the aircraft and pointing vertically downwards. The airship itself is not seen in the film.
