Combination Set Identity Tags of Squadron Leader Beswick

This set belonged to Squadron Leader Ernest Norman Beswick, who enlisted in 1936 and became an officer in 1941.

Every serving member of the armed forces is issued with a set of identity tags. Each tag records the person's name, service number, unit and religion. This example also records that this individual was an officer. If their owner died, the red disk was removed and used to report the fatality while the green disk remained with the body.
