Log books covers time that 2nd Lieutenant Woods served as a flying instructor in Egypt, 1918-1919.
Due to the high demand for aircrew, training facilities were developed overseas to ease the pressure on UK training units. In 1918 2,164 pilots graduated from schools in Egypt. Woods records the name of the pilots he was instructing, sometimes with basic observations about each student such as 'quite confident'.
