Lightning scramble

RAF Lightning fighter pilots of 111 Squadron discuss newspapers while on quick reaction alert at RAF Wattisham. A scramble order is given and a pilot runs to his aircraft. He is seen putting on lifejacket and flying helmet, boarding the aircraft and in the cockpit. Engines are started and the Lightning taxis and takes off, climbing away at a steep angle. A second Lightning then follows in a similar takeoff.
