Hand painted caption painted on strip below rudder stripe: Taken From 8 Gun Fighter Hurricane Z 3235 during 'The Battle of Britain' 1940 601 Squadron Always Endeavoured To Carry Its Crest Into Action, Despite Official Frowns. Presented by S/L S.G Vickers. Z3235 was constructed in 1941, served with 601 Squadron and was then transferred to the Soviet Union on 24 October 1941.
