Focus on Faireys, 1956

Film in which Gloster Meteor and Fairey Firefly aircraft participate in air-to-air missile trials and Peter Twiss, flying a Fairey Delta 2 high-speed experimental aircraft, sets a new speed record.

Air-to-air missiles are fired from a Gloster Meteor fighter aircraft at a Firefly drone target aircraft. The Meteor and Firefly take off and manoeuvre into position as ground controllers monitor the aircraft, and the Meteor launches a Fireflash missile at the Firefly. A Fairey Delta 2 high-speed experimental aircraft, flown by Peter Twiss, is seen on the ground and in the air as it sets a new air speed record.
