List of aerial combat successes of Flying Officer George Charles Boyce Peters, August-September 1940
During the Battle of Britain, Flying Officer George Peters flew with No. 79 Squadron. His ‘successes in aerial combat against the enemy in 1940’ are listed in this document.
George’s combats resulted in the destruction of two Messerschmitt Bf 110s, a shared destruction of a Heinkel He 111 and probable destructions of two Dornier Do 17s. His Hawker Hurricane Mark 1 P5177 was shot down over the Irish Sea while intercepting He111s over the Irish Sea. After his body was recovered, he was laid to rest at Rathnew Cemetery in County Wicklow, Ireland.
