Pilot's flying log book of Flight Sub Lieutenant Robert Seton Scott Orr, 17 September 1917-19 July 1918
Robert Orr joined the Royal Naval Air Service and undertook his pilot training at RNAS Vendome in France.
In February 1918, Orr was posted to No.1 Squadron RNAS operating the Sopwith Camel fighter. The squadron was renumbered No.201 Squadron on the formation of the Royal Air Force in April 1918. His log book records several aerial combats and attacks on balloons in the Somme area in the spring and summer of 1918. Lieutenant Orr was killed on 8 August, the first day of the Battle of Amiens, he was flying an offensive patrol when his aircraft was seen in flames near Villers-Bretonneux, he was 21 years old.
