This Tiger Moth was built in Cowley, Oxford, in 1941 and served briefly with No. 1 Elementary Flying Training School at Hatfield, Hertfordshire and later No. 7 Elementary Flying Training School at RAF Desford in Leicestershire between 1942 and 1946.

Lifejacket was issued to Chief Technician Peter Jack, a member of the ground crew of No. 18 Squadron, who sailed to the Falklands during the conflict aboard the SS Atlantic Conveyor.

Trolley Accumulator, Mk I

The batteries in aircraft were small so the Trolley Accumulator was used to provide the high power needed to start aircraft engines. The engine was used to recharge the batteries in the trolley.
