Aircraft Crash Axe

Multi-crew and multi-engine aircraft were equipped with an axe to assist the crew in escaping from it in a crash. These sturdy steel axes had insulated rubber handles designed to allow the axe to be used to cut through live electrical cables.

Würzburg Radar Indicator Unit

Vickers Wellington B Mk X

This Wellington was constructed in 1944 and served with No. 1 Air Navigation Training School between 1949 and 1953. It was not operational in the Second World War but represents the role played in the bombing campaign against Germany. It is one of only two Wellingtons to survive into the present day.
