Legion d'Honneur, Order of the, Chevalier, of Flight Lieutenant Michael Weller

Awarded posthumously to Weller by the French Government in recognition of his service as a flying instructor at Meknes Air Base where he served from June 1954 on a NATO exchange posting with the French Air Force. He was killed in a mid-air collision with another French aircraft in February 1956.

Percival Mew Gull

The Percival Mew Gull was a British racing aircraft of the 1930s, and only six were built. G-AEXF won the King’s Cup with Alex Henshaw in 1938 and they then completed a record-breaking flight from England to South Africa and back in 1939. This replica is modelled on that aircraft.

The Rheinbote (Rhine Messenger) artillery rocket was designed to replace or supplement the German Army’s long range, heavy artillery and could deliver a 40kg / 88lb warhead to a distance of 160 km / 99 miles. From November 1944 to May 1945, over 200 were launched in the direction of the Belgian port of Antwerp, a key Allied base.

Medal Bar of Squadron Leader Clifford Percival Rudland

Clifford Rudland served with No. 263 Squadron from 1940–1942, flying Westland Whirlwinds and Hurricanes. In 1941 he destroyed two Messerschmitt Me 109s in the air and damaged a Junkers Ju 87 on the ground during a sortie in France.
