Harold (Harry) Jameson joined the RFC as a Direct Entrant in February 1914. He embarked for France as an Air Mechanic 2nd Class in August, being promoted Air Mechanic 1st Class in September. Whilst serving with 4 Squadron he was awarded the Medaille Militaire 'For Gallantry' during the period 21-30 August 1914. He trained as a pilot in 1916 before returning to France and joining No. 42 Squadron. Jameson was awarded the Military Cross on 18 November 1916.

Distinguished Flying Medal of Sergeant George Hawkins

Hawkins won his DFM as a Leading Aircraftman whilst serving as the air gunner on a Bristol Blenheim. The Blenheim undertook a highly successful reconnaissance over north-west Germany on 31 October 1939. The DFM was awarded on 8 March 1940 by which time Hawkins had been promoted to Sergeant.

Leading Aircraftman James Skingsley was acting as a stand-in crew member aboard the Vickers Wellington piloted by Squadron Leader James Booth on 18 January 1943. Attacked by a night fighter, Skinglsey ignored an order to evacuate and helped Booth save the crew and the aircraft.
