Length of rectangular profile timber with seven holes (for steel bracket) one end and turned along its length and with a single hand grip the other. As fitted to the Avro 504K trainer aircraft to control the aircraft's ailerons and rudders.

The Jetstream served as the RAF’s standard multi-engined pilot trainer for many years, and was the last aircraft of Handley Page design in RAF service, though a few still fly with the Royal Navy.

A major change to the Other Ranks uniform took place in 1936. Shirts, ties and open necked jackets replaced tunics that closed to the neck.
Chequered Hat Band, RAF Cosford

Boy Entrants wore a chequered hat band as part of their uniform. The colours of the hat band displayed, known as 'rhubarb and custard', were unique to RAF Cosford, which was one of the principal Boy Entrant training stations.
RAF Cosford Hospital Key Tag

In 1940 a hospital opened at RAF Cosford, housed in a series of inter-connected wooden huts. During the Second World War over 42,000 patients were treated, including returning prisoners of war and burns victims in a dedicated maxilla-facial centre.
