This half-pint electroplated silver nickel tankard is emblazoned with the crest of No. 110 Squadron (Hyderabad). It was presented to Thomas Nutt by Princess Dürrüşehvar Sultan while he was serving in India, Christmas 1943.

Sgt Robert Smith Eminsang (service number 1479657), whose family were from the Gold Coast in Western Africa, was a married resident of Stockwell, London, when he joined the RAF Volunteer Reserve. He served as a Wireless Operator and Air Gunner in the Second World War with No.179 Squadron, a maritime patrol, anti-submarine warfare unit.

Leading Aircraftwoman Marion Gomm was a cook at RAF Wyton, headquarters for the Pathfinder Force. This candle was a memento from Marion’s 21st birthday party held in the Sergeants’ Mess in March 1944.

Flying Officer Osmond Randolph Howard Kelsick (service number 149954), from Montserrat, joined the RAF Volunteer Reserve (RAFVR) in December 1940, after which he undertook pilot training and received his commission in October 1943, flying Hawker Typhoons in air-to-ground attacks with 175 Squadron as part of the 2nd Tactical Air Force (2TAF) supporting the liberation of Europe.
