Collection of papers relating to Warrant Officer Michael Joseph Moloney. Warrant Officer Moloney came from the Republic of Ireland. He voluntarily joined the RAF during the Second World War and remained in the RAF until 1963. The collection includes two aircrew flying log books, a warrant certificate and a quantity of photographs.

During the Battle of Britain Geoffrey Brunner served with No. 43 Squadron. On 26 August 1940 in a raid off Portsmouth he was attacked by a Messerschmitt Bf 109. With no radio, engine or hydraulics, covered in petrol and wounded in the ankle, he successfully made a wheels-up landing at RAF Tangmere.

Pilot Jimmy James, shot down and captured in the Netherlands in 1940, was a persistent prison escaper, including during the Great Escape of 24 March 1944. He was awarded the Military Cross in recognition of his numerous escape attempts. The medals are, from left to right, Military Cross, 1939-1945 Star, Aircrew Europe Star, 1939-1945 War Medal with Mention in Despatches oakleaf.
