Richard and Anthony Baerlein were brothers, who both served as RAF pilots during the Second World War.  On completion of training, Anthony was posted to 51 Squadron, flying Whitley bomber aircraft.  He died on 22 October 1941, when his aircraft crashed in Yorkshire.  Richard survived the war and went on to become a well-known horse racing journalist.  It appears that Richard and Anthony each made a short recording for the BBC while still training as pilots.  Both of these recordings survive in the RAF Museum’s archive, although it is not currently certain which brother made which recording.  In each recording they speak briefly about their experience of flying training.
