Single-breasted, two pocket, khaki drill cotton jacket with stand and fall collar, pointed false cuffs and shoulder straps. Front opening closes with 5 small size General Service Pattern buttons which also appear on the straps and the flaps of the pleated breast pockets. No vent/s in the rear skirt. Rank insignia on both upper sleeves to a Flight Sergeant - three chevrons surmounted by a four blade propeller. No RFC shoulder-titles on sleeves or shoulder straps. Brass belt supporting hooks at waist.

Khaki, flap-over jacket fastening with five buttons concealed in a fly down the right side. The top edge of the flap fastens on the top of the shoulder with a loop & hook. Rise and fall collar bearing bronze RFC badges, the interior of the collar fitted with a false khaki shirt collar retained by 'plastic' buttons. Shoulder straps fastening with press-studs bear Lieutenant-Colonel's rank insignia in the form of an embroidered crown and pip. Plain cuffs. Horizontal flapped pockets in skirts. Centre rear vent. RFC pilot's badge on left breast. Lined throughout in khaki cotton fabric. Medal bar for KB and Queen's South Africa Medal.
