Triangular shield suspended from the three staves, inscribed, '31 MAY 1916.' Legend (within rope border): 'TO . THE . GLORIOUS . MEMORY . OF . THOSE . WHO . FELL . THAT . DAY .' Anchor below. Reverse: Inscription (within an oak wreath), 'MAY 31, 1916 THE GERMAN FLEET ATTACKED OFF THE COAST OF JUTLAND AND DRIVEN BACK INTO PORT WITH HEAVY LOSS . ADMIRAL SIR JOHN JELLICOE COMMANDER IN CHIEF. VICE ADMIRAL SIR DAVID BEATTY COMMANDING BATTLE CRUISER FLEET.'

Single wooden propeller blade with brass tip (missing) remains of rivets only. Original manufacturers transfer surrounded by carved RFC letters. Full RFC wings carved near root with No.11 SQUADRON painted in white with a nominal roll, by flights, of the flying personnel of No 11 Squadron at Christmas 1916. Words PER ARDUA AD ASTRA carved below. A bullet hole? passing right through close to the edge.

Large section of propeller tip carved with RFC badge design surrounded by floral design with a thermometer inlaid vertically in the centre. Thermometer reads "Blood Heat" "Sumr Heat" "Temperate" and "Freezing". "Carved by Air Mechanic F.J.Baxter No. 15506 Royal Flying Corps British Exped. Force Flanders 1916" on back with eyed hook.
