Six inch artillery shell modified for use as an aircraft bomb, with four cross-braced tail fins welded onto the pointed end of the projectile. Fitted with gunmetal nose plug. Corroded surface finish.

On a silver, eight point, multi-rayed star, a central circular medallion composed of a green enamel outer ring overlaid with laurel sprigs, an inner white ring lettered PRAEMIANDO INCITAT and a central monogram of two conjoined Ss in red enamel. The star overlaid overall by gold crossed swords. Vertical fastening pin at rear.
