On a rayed, four point, silver star, a gold medallion bearing the seated figure of Britannia within a crimson ring lettered FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE.

Flying Helmet Mark I

Brown leather helmet; with brown fur lining to ears, nape of neck, and peak; and chamois lining to crown. Silk thread label sewn into top of crown. The sides fitted with wind deflectors and ear flaps. Leather chinstrap from right side engages with leather covered buckle on left.
