Bronze Lieutenant's pips on straps and bronze RFC collar badges. RFC Pilots badge and ribbon to 1914-1915 Star above left breast pocket. Three War Service chevrons, blue, on right cuff.

Single-breasted, waist-length fitted jacket with a roll step collar. Gold lace in the rank of Squadron Commander on cuffs with gilt eagle above. Lapels, each with four false button holes. Three non-functional buttons widely spaced on each side at front and a single linked double button to fasten just below lapels (linked button missing, spare used). Small inset pockets in waist.

Cruciform shaped khaki cotton twill holder, small inner flaps fastening with press-studs under larger outer flaps, the whole enclosing shaving, tooth and scrubbing brushes, nail scissors, tooth paste, small aluminium container for talcum powder (?), shaving soap, used, and spare in gold Pear's soap container.

Broad brown leather belt, with double pin, brass buckle, fitted with three brass D rings on its upper edge and two angular brass loops on its lower edge. To the left of the buckle is a running leather loop, a flat brass hook and a fixed, long-neck stud which engages in holes pierced in the right end. Metal work secured by decorative stitching and brass rivets. Behind the buckle is a flaired leather piece to protect the uniform fabric.
