Brown leather cap type helmet lined in the crown in chamois and below the eye line in fur which extends across the brow and covers the turned-up peak. Narrow chin strap on right with broad, fur lined centre piece under chin engages with a leather-covered buckle on left. Small rectangular ear flaps sewn down at front and back, covering a pattern of six small holes pierced in the helmet sides. These flaps decorated - left - with a First Aid Nursing Yeomanry badge and - right - with an RFC button. Short, vertical goggles retaining straps at sides, the lower end secured by a press stud. On either side towards the rear of the skirt a leather-covered pin buckle set at an angle, possibly for a fur lined chin mask. All buckles have transverse leather tabs sewn behind them to retain the free end of the strap which buckles to them. Manufacturer's label identifies the cap as "André 's Superfine". Condition - excellent and eminently displayable.
