Photograph album of the visit of the Duke of Edinburgh to the RAF Museum at RAF Hendon, 4 June 1970
Amongst the fascinating and unique items held within the Archive collection there are artefacts which offer tantalising glimpses into the history of the RAF Museum itself.
The Museum’s London site was built on land which had formed part of the original airfield at Hendon developed by Claude Grahame White and colleagues during the 1910s. This later became RAF Hendon. This photograph album compiled by personnel at RAF Hendon contains images of when the Duke of Edinburgh - the Museum’s Patron – made a visit during its construction.
