Photograph album for RAF Hendon, 1969-1970
Amongst the fascinating and unique items held within the Archive collection there are artefacts which offer tantalising glimpses into the history of the RAF Museum itself.
The Museum’s London site was built on land which had formed part of the original airfield at Hendon developed by Claude Grahame White and colleagues during the 1910s. This later became RAF Hendon. This photograph album, compiled by RAF personnel at RAF Hendon, not only captures images of the local area in the late 1960s and early 1970s but also of a time when the station’s role was changing.
