Mitsubishi Ki-46 III "Dinah" on the ground
The Mitsubishi Ki-46 was designed as a fast and high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft. In the early stages of the Pacific War, Allied fighters had difficulty intercepting the Dinah because of its speed.
The Ki-46 helped to provide Japanese forces with vital intelligence before the opening of the Malayan campaign, in which British forces suffered a devastating defeat.
