Letter to Mrs Albon from the Air Ministry regarding her husband Flying Officer Eric Albon
Letter dated 2 November 1944 to Mrs Albon from the Air Ministry informing her that her husband Flying Officer Eric Albon has not been traced and is still considered officially Missing.
Flying Officer Eric Albon was a bomb aimer with No. 78 Squadron, flying Halifaxes. He failed to return from an operation to Amiens in which he was flying in Halifax LV820 on 12 June 1944. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. His aircraft crashed into the middle of a German convoy, killing around 50 German soldiers.
