Naomi Barnett was the first woman to fly solo with a university air squadron. She later served as an RAF air traffic controller and trained as a civilian airline pilot.
Naomi Barnett trained to fly Bulldog aircraft with a University Air Squadron while studying at Leeds University. She describes her feelings on having been the first woman to fly an RAF aircraft solo since the Second World War and the first woman to fly solo with a university air squadron. She later served in the RAF as an air traffic controller before leaving to train as a civilian airline pilot.
