Tapestry depicting a Sopwith Camel
Hand embroidered coloured tapestry depicting an RFC Sopwith Camel aircraft flying over a wooded scene with a church tower in the background.
One of a series of tapestries embroidered by members of the Women's Royal Air Force in their free time as a tribute to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the RAF. The series was presented to the Royal Air Force Museum in October 1978. This tapestry may have been created by Flight Lieutenant M J Clark.
