Tapestry depicting a Vickers VC10

Hand embroidered coloured tapestry depicting an RAF Vickers VC10 aircraft in Transport Command colours flying in the clouds.

One of a series of tapestries embroidered by members of the Women's Royal Air Force in their free time as a tribute to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the RAF. The series was presented to the Royal Air Force Museum in October 1978. This tapestry may have been created by Sergeant W E McKay
