Pilot's flying log book of Major Oliver Stewart, 1916-1917
After completing his flying training, Stewart was posted No.54 Squadron in France which was equipped with Sopwith Pups.
Stewart would become a fighter ace during his time with No.54 Squadron, claiming five combat victories and being awarded the Military Cross. Stewart left the RAF in 1921 and became a well known author and broadcaster on aviation matters, writing for among others The Times and The Guardian newspapers
