A cylindrical metallic lighting switch with supporting bracket, brown in colour. Four screws protrude at right angles. The words "Off" "Revs" "Both" and "Comp" are visible on the centrally raised surface encircling a dial and its arrow. This is mounted at an angle on a wooden block which carries a square silver plaque on one of its sides. This bears engraved text recording the use of the switch on the first aircraft to make a night landing over petrol flares on 17th June 1913.
