Large alloy 18.5 gallon capacity aircraft fuel tank for B.E.2D or B.E.2E observation biplanes of WWI vintage. Curved top and riveted construction; Lever type valve at base. Has non-original wooden filler cap and two wooden runners (plus cross-piece) forming a base from its latterday use as a paraffin tank. Painted two shades of silver overall.
