Stiffened panel covered in ultra dark blue superfine cloth cut pointed at the inner end and straight at outer end which bears one stripe of normal width Service Dress gold lace with executive curl above which is positioned a small gilt O with Wings badge for a Flight Sub-Lieutenant Observer. The buttonhole fitted with a button plugged through. The underside lined in ultra dark blue superfine and fitted with laces to attach the board to the greatcoat. Accompanied by a piece of gold lace shaped to form an Executive curl and clearly stripped off the other board which would have made this a pair.
