Khaki serge jacket with lapel extending fully to right shoulder and fastening with concealed horn buttons; shoulder straps and horizontal, inset pockets with flaps fastened with a visible horn button. No tabs on cuffs. The fall part of the collar closes edge to edge with hooks and eyes. With shoulder-titles - ROYAL FLYING CORPS - embroidered off-white on black. A red embroidered RAF Wireless Operator/Mechanics badge on right upper arm - perhaps a modern addition - and three blue War Service chevrons on right cuff.

Khaki serge jacket with lapel extending fully to right shoulder and fastening with concealed horn buttons; shoulder straps and horizontal, inset pockets with flaps all fastened with visible, small horn buttons. No tabs on cuffs. The fall part of the collar closes edge to edge with hooks and eyes. The front lower opening fitted with a pair of press studs to keep it closed across the upper legs. The sleeves, chest and shoulders lined, but the lower part unlined. Short vent at centre rear. With shoulder-titles - ROYAL FLYING CORPS - embroidered off-white on black. With no rank insignia, but black ribbon band round left shoulder strap.
